Rsale without fake activity: an honest marketplace launch in Serbia

An honest start beats a fake storefront

I am Maksim Baranov, and this is the first honest Rsale devlog.

We could pretend that the marketplace is already buzzing across Serbia: add temporary articles, fake some activity, place a few pretty numbers on the page and say "everything is flying". But that would be a cardboard marketplace. Nice from far away, sad on the first click.

So we are starting differently: there are almost no listings right now, and we do not want to fake activity. Rsale should grow from real sellers, real products, real services and actual trust.

Why build another marketplace

There are already classifieds, chats, social networks, aggregators and familiar ways to buy and sell. We are not going to run around shouting that everything else is bad. That is boring and usually not true.

But the old format has real problems: search often asks for saint-level patience, design can feel like an internet archive, listings live in one language, SEO turns into noise, and every seller has to become a photographer, copywriter, translator and part-time magician.

We are building Rsale around five things: search, design, multilingual experience, SEO, AI and UX. Yes, that is six. A marketplace without good UX does not pass the basic common-sense check.

What we are already building

• Search. So people can find what they actually meant to buy.
• Design. Not decoration, but a simpler way to publish and decide.
• Multilingual support. Serbia is multilingual in practice: Serbian, Russian, English, German, Chinese and other audiences often look at the same market.
• SEO. We want good pages to be discoverable in Google, without creating empty index noise.
• AI. A helper for descriptions, translations, listing structure and future search flows. Not magic, not a replacement for people, just a useful tool.

Bonuses: not a casino, a reward for useful actions

Rsale has XP, levels, daily quests, internal coins and referrals. The idea is simple: if a seller makes the platform more useful, the seller should get something useful back.

Publish a proper listing, reply to buyers, refresh a card, receive a good review, close a deal — progress grows. Coins can be used for promotion: search boosts, feed highlights and VIP slots. The referral reward appears after a real action from the invited user, not after an empty click.

Important: internal coins are not money and not a promise of income. They are a promotion tool inside Rsale.

What comes next

In the next devlogs I will write about search, design, multilingual SEO, AI, the Serbian market, the bonus program, delivery and payments. Not as press releases, but in normal human language: what we built, where we got it wrong, what we are testing and what is not ready yet.

Rsale is not trying to look bigger than it is. We want it to become more useful than people expect.

That is harder, but more honest.
